1st birthday location

my dd daughters 1st b-day is in Decmeber right around the holiday and everyones holiday parties. I wanted to start wokring on securing a location early b/c of these reasons. Right now the guest list is about 150 thats including kids. Does anyone have any suggestions on where i could possibly look for a location that isn't going to break the bank. I checked out the american legion on herbert street in lindenhurst and they want $15 a head just to rent the room. I am new to long island so i really don't know of any places out here, I am currently in west islip and willing to check out whatever you guys can suggest.

How far are you willing to go? Are you looking to just rent a room and bring your own food? Are you looking to have it at a restaurant?

I just had my dd's birthday in March and looked into a lot of places so let me know exactly what you are looking for and maybe I can help.

i am not tied down to any location i am open to anything and everything.. I'm not affraid of DIY

Your town probably has rec. centers you can rent out. It's typically a flat fee. Town of Brookhaven has a few, but I think you need to be a resident.
