1st birthday at a park
If you have had a party at a park, please tell me the ins and outs of it all.
I have lots of questions lol:
Were you able to have entertainment?
Were there any regulations?
Did you pay for parking for your guests in advance?
How did your party turn out and would you do it again?
If not why?
Did you cater or BBQ?
How did you keep your cake cool?
Can you recommend a park where I can rent a pavilion? We live in Seaford but are willing to go elsewhere.
Wantagh Park is already booked for the date I want but they have the next day open so that's always a possibility. Eisenhower also has availability but I would have to rent a tent from their catering company. I am going to call Cedar Creek and a few others.

we did my ds 1st birthday party at cedar creek park in seaford.
i loved it! i thought it was a lot of fun!
i think we paid $250 for the permit. (no rain date)
parking was including in the permit fee.
there was a ton of regulations but they weren't ridiculously strict on enforcing them.
we were allowed entertainment but if we wanted a jumping castle or anything like that we would've had to use their vendor.
i did use their caterer. they did a fantastic job and was worth every cent.
i told my bakery the party was at the park ~ he used a fudge outside instead of whip cream so it would hold up w/o having to be refrigerated.

My cousin just did this. They catered w/ wraps and salads, plus lots of goldfish/puffs for the babies (they invited all the Music Together friends). She brought a blow up pool and filled it with balls for a makeshift ball pit. It was adorable b/c the oldest kid was only 3.

also - we purposely chose the pavillion by the ball field and had a family softball game. it was cute. the park was very clean and nice.

We're doing it @ Cedar Creek -
It was $250 with the alcohol permit.
I'm just catering cold foods - sandwiches, wraps, salads etc. Not sure about the cake yet ........I may just buy a giant cooler for that and the fruit and stuff ........
I have a ton of bubbles, soccer balls, footballs, wiffle bats/balls etc. for the kids to run around and play ........I'm trying to keep it very low key and relaxed b/c we obviously have to bring everything in -

NEWS BRIEF: Beginning Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, non-Nassau County residents will be charged a $10 parking fee on weekends.
this is from the nassau county park website... so parking is not included in the permit fee...
