19 week old sleep concerns

Sorry if this seems like it rambles on and addresses a bunch of different things...

DS has been a great sleeper up until 18 weeks...we had 10-11:30 hours of sleep without waking up. Every once in a while you would hear him talking in the middle of the night but it didn't last long at all.

Starting about a week ago DS is talking a lot more in his sleep/may be waking up (we can't tell on the monitor), talking for longer periods of time and most of the time will go to sleep on his own. However, I am noticing that the amount of sleep time has somewhat decreased and he wakes up tired.

He also has rolled over twice from back to front in the swaddle. I know I am going to get "yelled at" about this (so please don't do it)...DS is still swaddled in a woombie (straight jacket) with his hands inside. The first time he flipped he went back to sleep....the second time he started crying. We tried to make the woombie into a wearable blanket and keep DS' hands out. It lasted 45 minutes before the screaming began and we put them back inside.

I guess my questions are twofold....
1. Is talking so much in their sleep normal? Is this a developmental milestone? I don't think it's sleep "regression" because he still is sleeping a lot.

2. Does the talking last forever? I feel like DS isn't as well rested as he once was.

3. What can I do to successfully get DS to sleep with his arms out? I'm trying to avoid CIO if at all possible.

Thanks for your help/suggestions.

DS never talks in his sleep so I do not really think it is a developmental milestone. If he doesn't seem bothered by it, I would honestly just ignore it... At this point, I don't even use the sound on my monitor so unless DS is crying, I do not hear him.

2. Does the talking last forever? I feel like DS isn't as well rested as he once was.

If he is not getting enough sleep, then he will most likely try to make up for it during the day when he naps. I don't think there is much you can do to get him to stop talking.

When we stopped swaddling DS went through the WORST sleep regression. He would be up 2-4 times a night. It lasted from 14 weeks to now (6 months). We just did CIO and he only really cried the first night for a short period of time. He is now sleeping 7:30-6:30.

Your regression is what I dream of lol.

ETA we had my daughter in the woombie until almost 8 months. She could NOT sleep without her arms in. We would try periodically and one night she was just fine. No weaning, no training.
