18 month old and 4 week old....

Hi ladies!! So I just had my 2nd DD 4 weeks ago. Yesterday my 18 month old DD started hitting her. Today it got worse...I laid down with my 18 mth old to put her to sleep and my other DD started to cry so I brought her in and my 18mth old started kicking me, the. She started hitting the baby. Now I know she was tired but every time I firmly said no she would laugh and do it again. I had to leave her in her room and close the door for a min bc she would stop she thought it was funny. So I put the baby in her crib and opened got my other daughter and picked her up and explained to her that we do t hit or kick...but the question is I'm not sure if I did the right thing by putting her in her room I just don't know what to do...has anyone had this issue? And if you did what did you do?

never had that experience but as a discipline goes I think you did the right thing. separate, let her be alone (which isn't what she wanted) and an explanation alone with just her.

Re: 18 month old and 4 week old....

My twins were 17 months old when their little brother was born. One was extremely jealous of him and would do things like this-try to hit the baby when I was holding him, throw toys at him, etc.

I think you were right in what you did. I would just correct my son and tell him no we do not hit. Sometimes he'd tantrum, other times he didn't care. He grew out of it a couple months later (I guess he realized his brother was here to stayChat Icon).

Now the little one is 14 months and he's the troublemaker!!! So you just never know
