17m what do they eat
so my 19/17adj m olds. eat all veggies and all fruits. I try to incorporate high protein pasta with cheese or butter, waffles, eggs only scrambled and fried flat, gold fish, pretzels, cheerios, chex, string cheese, american cheese, and a few vegetarian patties( a bite or 2 per meal) , ice cream and chocolate. no meat at all! and no yogurt! is there something im missing? something new to try?? Their diet is balanced, but I feel like I'm missing something. thanks
they are not interested in pancakes or toast, or sandwiches and have no alergies

My DS LOVES hummus. I usually give him some small pieces of whole wheat bread and some hummus in a bowl and he goes crazy for it.

My DS is a garbage can. He will eat anything. We have tried it all at thing point and loves almost all.
I just give him what we have.

Re: 17m what do they eat
I agree with Hummus, or just beans...my DD could snack on black beans. I have a friend whose DD loves Olives. Also to get some extra protein, how about a sunflower butter/peanut butte/almond butter on bread with a jam or even on crackers.
two of my kids love meat...the 3rd not so much. I try and prepare it in a variety of ways and then hope he will have a bite or two. I also try a variety of different meats. I only ate chicken growing up...since I have had kids, I have learned how to eat so many more things. haha

Re: 17m what do they eat
They will eat hummus, but if I dont spoon feed it to them it is EVERYWHERE. In their hair, on my walls. So far we are no good with bowls. They clearly are just for dumping. lol As for peanut butter, one of my girls eats it. If I put it on crackers, it gets licked off, which is ok, but it also has the same effect as hummus. in the hair etc. As for sandwiches, or anything with bread... no interest unless they are taking a bite of mine.
Honestly, at this point I only cook for them. There just is not time. There is only ever one mommy (they have 2) home at a time. We almost never get to all eat together. I cut a huge salad on Sunday and that gets the adults through the week. Pre kid I cooked every night. It gets easier every few months. hopefully, I will be able to cook again sooner then later.

Would they do fish? DD likes the dr. praeger's fish nuggets and they're easy for when I don't have anything else on hand or the time to prep something from scratch.
What about beans? I have the same issue with hummus, pb, or hard boiled egg- it's just not worth the mess. I've given white beans with pasta and she did well. I've also done whole roasted chickpeas as a snack.
I give a lot of grilled cheese, really just sliced cheddar on a slice of bread in the toaster oven. I've also tried quesadillas with cheese and veggies.

Re: 17m what do they eat
we eat a lot of beans and chic peas. they are not interested in fish. they will eat a bite or 2. really.... olives, cheese sticks, eggs, and beans are our protein sources. I'm just always looking for new things to try with them.
thanks for everyones replies:)

Re: 17m what do they eat
Could you use the crock pot? Or do big batches of chowders, stews, soups?
It's so difficult when both parents are busy. There are so many nights when dd gets a real meal but dh and I eat cereal (he's picky and eats like a five year old).
