16 month old... throwing up for 4 days now
My DD started throwing up Tuesday morning. I took her to the doctor Wed. afternoon and they said it should clear up in 24-48 hours. My daughter still can't hold food down, if she eats, she throws it right up. This is day 4 now. I am starting to get worried and upset. Anyone I know with kids said if they threw up it was only a 24 hour bug? Has this prolonged vomiting ever happened to anyone elses toddler?? I'm trying to keep her hydrated but she is super resistant to drinking and usually throws the cup and cries. I am not sure how much longer this can go on for. Why is she not getting better?

How much are you giving her when she eats or drinks.
You have to slowly add anything back in and when I say slowly I mean a sip or two of liquid and a bite of food. They can't just go back to a meal and a cup of whatever.

No. She is doing ok with the water and cheerios. But I gave her about 4 small bites of infant oatmeal mixed with water and she immediately threw it up. Yesterday it was the same with two small bites of banana. Pretty much any food, immediately comes out... she can't tolerate it. and this is day 4 already.

If she really can't keep anything down, take her back to the dr. Or at leased all. Especially since it's Friday.
Give pedialyte and nothing else until she doesn't vomit for 4-6 hours, then give her something super bland like dry toast or baby oatmeal made with water. If she can keep thos things down, keep slowly introducing very bland foods,
Any only a bite at a time, Same with liquids- only a few sips and and at iron temp.

Does Celiac run in either your family or DD father's family? This happened to my stepsister's DS when he developed Celiacs around the age of one.

When DS was an infant, he had a stomach bug that lasted a week. Some of them do last longer.
I would call the Dr and let them know she is still vomiting since it's been so long.
