16 month old and runny noses
My 16 month old twins have a pretty bad runny nose and some congestion, and watery eyes, but no fever. They are eating and acting fine. I contacted the doctor and he said to put on a vaporizer, that didn't help at all. What should I do for them, they have a slight cough at night. I think it's from a post nasal drip. But I feel bad their little nose is running and it seems like its not getting better. It's been three days. What do you do for your DC when they have a cold? TIA

It's probably just a cold and 3 days is nothing. If they are acting fine and no fever I would do nothing.

I would try and suck their noses with the nose sucker thing.
I also use the Vicks vapor liquid int he humidifier and that seems to help.
You can give some tylenol or advil and see if that helps them sleep
Other than that you have to let it run its course

My boys get runny nose when a new tooth is coming in. Maybe that is what you have??? Just not sure about the cough.

I try to elevate the mattress a bit by putting a towel or two underneath.

I swear by the saline drops. DD doesnt like it much but it sure does clean her out. I now use it on a regular basis.

Humidifier, propping them on a small pillow to help with the night time coughing. I sometimes put a tiny bit of vicks on their pillow if they are stuffy and use the saline mist. They sell one specifically for babies, it is a very fine mist. Works great when they let you use it!!

My 22 mo DS is having this too.. I use the hylands tiny cold tablets and they help the runny nose

DS is 16 months and recently got over a cold he had for about a week
same symptoms
we have the vicks plug in vaporizor, we put vicks on his chest (he had a cough too) and used the saline and snot sucker when he'd let us get near him, which wasn't too often.
at this point all you can do is wait it out
