15-20 month olds and Cough med ?
DD has a bad cough. The Ped recommended childrens benadryl. Have u ever given this to them? If not what have u given to DC when they have had a cough and have trouble sleepin? THANKS

My daughter just turned 16 months yesterday. My ped recommended Pedia Care Cough(childrens). He told me to give her a 1/2 tsp.

I gave childrens benadryl...it knocked him out enough to buy a few hours of comfortable sleeping...they woudln't prescribe or give anything else...

my Dr said if you want to give anything, go with the tylenol products (Tylenol plus) since the dosage would be the same as regular tylenol.
My kids have been getting Tylenol plus for cough and runny nose along with a humidifier at night

Just a warning - benadryl can cause hyperactivity in some children
