13 months and still not walking
DD is 13 months old today. I am starting to go into mommy panic mode that she is not walking. I practice with her everyday. She will walk holding onto my 2 fingers and yesterday she walked onlu holding onto my one hand. But she does not seem stable. She still sometimes puts her chest forward which if she wasnt holding my hand would make her automatically fall.
She cruises like a champ and can even go from one piece of furniture to another one close by without holding on but why isn't she walking? Sometimes when I try to practice she just whines and wants to be held or go on her knees instead. It's like she doesn't have a real interest. Even with the tons of clapping and hoorays when she walks holding on to our hands. And she HATES the walking toys, won't even attempt them
Any advice to help her learn.

Re: 13 months and still not walking
Totally NORMAL! Don't even worry about it. DS didn't walk till a week shy of 15 months. I wasn't conserned b/c all the girls on here said it's normal.
All kids are different and I promise you she will be walking b4 you know it. When she does you'll miss her crawling b/c it'll be walking then running and running away.
Just keep doing what your doing and she'll do it on her own time. I believe Peds don't start to worry till afgter 16 months. Something like that.

Re: 13 months and still not walking
My baby was the same way. My pediatrician told us not to worry, so I tried to take his advice. Then one morning the baby just woke up and "got it."

Re: 13 months and still not walking
DS started walking a week before his 13 month birthday, and had been crusing for 2 months prior, however his cousin is 15 months and not even trying to walk at all. Every baby develops differently, I wouldn't worry.

Re: 13 months and still not walking
Relax. 13 months is still young. My DD walked with assistance (walking toys, hands, etc) when she was 12 months old. She didn't walk on her own until 15 months and once she took those first steps she was off and never looked back. Every kid walks in their own time so I wouldn't worry. I don't think they are considered "late walkers" until somewhere around 18 months so your DD is perfectly fine. She will walk in her own time.

Re: 13 months and still not walking
My DD is 15 months and she is doing exactly the same thing your DD is doing. This weekend she just started to walk on one of those stroller walkers and she did great, if you don't have that I would get it and put some shoes on her she will have better support. I am hoping my DD will start walking soon, as well as yours.
