Big Corporations in LI ?
I applied to Canon in Lake Success, can anyone think of other big corporations in Nassau County??
I am drawing a blank from all the applying, lol.
eta: I don't think this is Career board as much as it is a general question. If I am wrong I am sure it will be moved

Also, what do you define as "Big Corporation"? Is it just the local office that needs to be big, or the corporation as a whole? Symbol (they were bought out recently, so are now Motorola) isn't on the list, because the local office has less than 1600, but Motorola is a huge company. What number classifies as big? Personally, I would consider any company over 500 people as big. That opens up the field quite a bit.

Emily, I heard recently that they were closing the Lake Success office of Canon. I think they are relocating it. Just wanted to give you an FYI.

I have an issue with # 46 on the NewsDAy list..its not pc. "Assoc for the Help of Retarded Children", that is so 1950's. They should change it to disabled or mentally challenged.

Yes, that's their location in East Hills on Northern Blvd. I've been reading though that Pall is going to close one of their LI offices and such. Not sure of what's happening, but Newsday carried all the articles.

What industry? You want to stay on LI? I know we are looking for sales reps in NYC but the office is in LI so you'd only have to go to NYC for appointments. There is a base plus commission.

ANYONE can be a salesperson. Don't underestimate yourself. I'll keep my eyes open for you. I like looking for jobs for people! Also check out the acreer board and look for scotts(danielleandscott) post on WAH jobs. You may find something you can do for a short time while you look for a great job. GL!
