102 fever in year old- teething?
DD was whimpering in her crib all night and when I went to her she was boiling up with a 102 fever. She has a runny nose but other than that seems fine. We went to the ped today and he said its most likely a common cold or possibly teething.
102 (tushy temp) seems a little high to me for teething but I really don't know anything lol

when my DD was getting her molars...she reached 102 fever. So it could possible be that?
Does she have her hands in her mouth a lot? has she been cranky?

for a ped to brush anything off as teething, is irresponsible, imo.
102 is a high fever could be anything, could be nothing, did he even check her ears? her throat?

DS had crazy high fevers with teething...102, 103. Always took him to the doctor but everything else was fine with ears, throat, chest, etc. Once the teeth broke through, the fever was gone.

he said it was most likely a cold - he checked her eyes , ears, and throat. Her nose is sooo runny like a faucet

Re: 102 fever in year old- teething?
My DS had a 102-103 fever on Thursday night. I took him to the ped on Friday morning and it turns out he had a bacterial infection in his throat! Everything goes in their mouths at this age... did he check her throat? He has been on antibiotics since Friday and his fever finally broke on Sunday. A 102-103 fever usually means there is an infection somewhere... I think that's pretty high for just teething. I hope she feels better soon!!

Re: 102 fever in year old- teething?
I am sorry... but a fever of 102 is NOT due to "teething". In my experience, teething "fevers" are 99 - 100 degrees... NOT 102!
