1 year old vacation

My husband and I are thinking about going away for a few nights in May. My son will just turn one that month. Any ideas that are driving distance. Is he too young for dutch wonderland or sesame place?

We took DS to Sesame when he was 15 months and he loved it. Mystic CT is cute too. We drove to Hilton Head, SC when DS had just turned two. It's a 15 hour drive, but we had a blast.

I would do something for you & your hubby & bring your kid along for the ride.
1 is really too young for just about everything.

If you are thinking of going to a park, check ride limits. I know that before walking, DD could only go on the carousel BENCH at sesame place (she was walking at 13 months). She wasn't really into watching shows.

I agree at that age, dc will just be taking everything in and probably not get much out of a child-focused place. Savor the opportunity to do kid-friendly but adult things (destination with a cute town, sightseeing, etc.) - you will have plenty of time in the next few years to do kid stuff.

Thanks everyone! I kind of figured he was too young. We were away on a cruise last week and he wasn't phased by any of the kids stuff. He could take or leave the carousel.


We are thinking about going to Philly or Boston and maybe visiting a zoo or something that he may enjoy ( but we as adults would enjoy too).
