1 year old sleep regression
So my DS has been sleeping 10 hour stretches without issue for a couple months. All of a sudden he is waking up after a couple hours screaming and crying hysterically. I was able to rock him back to sleep but as soon as I attempt to transfer him back to crib he wakes right back up and cries hysterically. I try rocking again or my husband does but with no luck. We tried letting him cry but not having much luck. He ended up in our bed last night due to being so tired and having work. I don't want to start a bad habit though. This is second time in last couple days. I tried CIO in past to drop night nursing sessions but he is so hysterical this time. Any idea what this can be from? Any suggestions on what to do?

Teething is always a possibility. I would avoid the bed trap if possible.

Re: 1 year old sleep regression
I agree don't take him into bed! We are learning that lesson the hard way. My youngest 19 months old is the worst sleeper. Every night she was coming into our bed. Dh and I weren't getting any real sleep. We are in the process of doing CIO with her. It's awful and really one of the hardest things I've had to do as a parent. Last night she screamed for 47 mins. I finally went in I couldn't take it. I laid on her floor face down and didn't talk to her at all. After another 1/2 hour she went off on her own! She got up 2 more times during the night. Again I went in and laid down directly on the floor and she went back off on her own. I feel bad but it's the best. I know eventually she will get use to me not rocking her, not taking her into bed and she will be fine.
I feel like cio is really the best solution. As long as you know he is safe in his crib and isn't sick let him cry. As hysterical and he gets eventually it gets better! Best of luck

We've been dealing with this with dd. I believe its because she's teething. She was waking a lot while her molars were coming in and then went back to sttn after they were in. But now her canines are coming through so she's back to waking a lot.

It could be anything. Learning something new or something like teething. I always just suffered through as it usually only lasted a few days.

Re: 1 year old sleep regression
Every few months, dd does this for a few days. A tooth usually emerges shortly after. Sometimes I give her Tylenol and it seems to work.

Re: 1 year old sleep regression
going through it now DD just turned 1 on 1/21
I am not sure if its teething (molars) or that she was sick for 2 weeks and was used to MUCH more attention but we had to CIO last night. 330am-430. Worst but she was happy as a clam this am
