1 year anniversary / baby moon beachfront ideas?

So, after all this stress, we have our 1 year anniversary coming up on 7/13! We are going to Israel on 7/15, so we wanted to do a local getaway for just one day - does anyone have any ideas of beachfront hotels, can be anywhere on LI - does not have to be the hamptons.
We are having dinner at the Thatched Cottage (where we got married!) in Centerport on our anniversay on 7/13, so we'd like to spend the day before at a hotel somewhere on LI on the beach.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What about Fire Island? Not sure if any of the hotels would let you stay just one nite, they tend to require a 2night minium during peak season.. Even still, you spend the day on the beach, and there are plenty of resturants.

I Love Fire Island. We go every summer. I love the ferry ride out there and not having to drive. If you look into it, I really recommend you go to Ocean Beach. There are lots of restaurants and night life in town and they also have lots of art fairs during the day. Some parts of the island are very desolate, and some parts (Cherry Grove and the Pines) are homosexual communities. They're fun too, but a pregnant woman might feel a bit out of place there, LOL. I don't know if you can stay for just a night, but it's worth a try. It's my favorite place.
