1 hour test
i got done with it at like 1045, came home and ate bc i was starving!! anyway now i have a crazy headache, did anyone else get one after the 1 hour test?

I have to go Feb 1st for mine. I am worried about weather or not to eat before i go. My appoint isnt until 12.30 so I will be STARVED by then if I dont have something. The nurse in the office told me to eat as regular before I went but that worries me a little.
Im sure the headache is probably pretty normal. Between not eating first and then drinking a sweet drink, it must have thrown your body for a loop!

u are soppose to fast--my friend was told to eat--and she was not soppose to and failed--ask the doc again.

My DR said NOT to fast. I go at 7am on Thursday and then I have to run into work right after. I hope I don't

I just called my docs office to make sure...
I am worried because they did not draw my blood first only after..so i asked if i was soppose to fast and she said only if u go in the a.m. do not eat that morning...i dk--i am waiting for a doc to call me back. ugh.

Im going to call mine too. I dont go for 2 weeks but I figure I better be prepared. I dont want to do the 3 hour if I can help it... I dont really even want to do the 1 hour! I have been eating so bad, I am getting really nervous about taking it.

I'm not so nervous about the reults as I am about the test. When I called teh labs I could go to, none take appts for the 1 Hr test, and when I asked what the prep for the test wast, they directed me to my Dr. I am going to my Dr on Jan 31, so I will ask then. Plan on going the following week to do the glucose test, as my Dr practically begged me not to go until Feb.
My other concern/question is, if I go first thing in the AM, w/o eating and then go right to work will I feel ok?? I am afraid of feeling light-headed, headache or
I live in Queens, but work on LI and would go to a lab on LI, but what if?!?!?

i felt fine except for the headache, it could be the drink and that i did not eat since 830 last night, and i got there as they opened at 830 and had to wait till 9 something to drink the stupid drink then wait the hour, so i was there for 2 full hours is wha i think really got to me, but other then the headache i felt ok...i am sure u will be ok just bring something to snack on or eat right after the test.
