1-800-SERVICE Calls???

I'm curious, is anyone else getting calls from 1-800-SERVICE (different phone numbers, but this is the caller ID that comes up for us)?

We get a ton of them, some are about a credit card, some about our mortgage, some about our car warranty. I never tell these people a thing, but they are never really clear about the reason for the call. If I ask them not to call anymore, they try to get personal info, if I won't give it, I get hung up on.

Sounds like a scam, just wondering if others are getting these.

I've been getting them, too, but I never get a live person. I always get a recording. Mine are always about a car warranty.

You are right, the car warranty calls are recordings (I don't even own a car)!

The other calls have been people though.

I get calls about my National Grid account. I have oil.

I get these too, and they drive me batty! Does ANYONE know how to stop them? Even if you choose the option to speak to someone, it never connects.

the calls we were getting from 800 svc were from SIRIUS.

The person I got on the phone wanted to check on the spelling of my name and our phone number, as well as other info, but I never found out what other info she was "checking" on, because I cut her off. I don't want to give out anything over the phone, and as for my number, I said you called, you should have it!
