Yes, i was told to have a full bladder which helps with the placement of th catheter and the uterus. If you need to empty after they can give you a pan but I always chose to wait it out for 30-45 min.

Just FYI, it doesn't have to be completely full to the point of being uncomfortable. I always end up with my bladder being too full because I drink a lot of water & waiting to get in for the transfer.

I am told to empty my bladder completely 1 hour before and then fill up with 18 oz on the way.

when the do the transfer they use an abdominal sono. its easier to see the uterus for placement with full bladder.

this is why. there was one dr in the group I went to who didnt use the sono. I was so excited when they told me I could empty my bladder before the transfer
