Re: LONG! Stuck in this hellhole with no lovenox... who knows heparin
i did heparin in the hospital before i delivered, it was an insulin sized tiny needle though. twice a day because it has a 12 hour half life unlike lovenox that has a 24 hour half life. it didnt burn as much as lovenox IMO. the nurses always came with it prefilled so i dont know what dose it was. good luck!!!
Re: LONG! Stuck in this hellhole with no lovenox... who knows heparin
I was on hep. It will be hard going back to Lovenox. the hep was so much easier and for me didn't burn or bruise. Only thing was having to do it twice a day.

Re: LONG! Stuck in this hellhole with no lovenox... who knows heparin
I'm sorry...but I am glad you were able to get Heparin.
It works the same way as lovenox. I switched from lovenox to heparin at around 36 weeks. Heparin has a shorter time ( 12 hrs) and can be reversed with medicine ( which is why they switch many women to heparin closer to their Due date. I had vials which they gave me insulin needles for....( see if a pharmacy has those). They were much easier over all then the lovenox. I did bruise a lot more though with Heparin....( nothing terrible...but just so you can expect it if it happens). It was twice a day.
