Re: Would you send a gift?

I wouldn't send a gift - he basically took back the invite but not sending one which is really rude!

Re: Would you send a gift?

i think the co-worker didn't send the invitation because he knew you couldn't attend, and didn't want you to feel obligated to send a gift. (that's giving him the benefit of the doubt, of course)

either way, i would do whatever you feel is right. personally, i might send a "token" gift.. i.e $100 gift certficate or something

Re: Would you send a gift?

I would sent a gift.....because I feel it's the right thing to do..........I think it's wierd that they called for the address and never sent the invite but I wouldn't base my actions on what they did or what they gave......

I agree. We give all of DH's colleagues a gift when they get married regardless of if they invited us or not. I did the same in my office when I was working.

Re: Would you send a gift?

To be honest I would send a gift. Nothing big, like someone said before, maybe a gift certificate or something.

I agree. I think he didn't want you to feel obligated, but I would probably send something small, maybe worth $25 or less.

I think sending a small gift would be nice. Maybe they have a registry set up.

You weren't invited. I would acknowledge it as I would any other old co-worker that got married.

A card & that's it.

No, you guys are off the hook. He's obviously not that close of a friend anyway.

I disagree, he came to your wedding and only gave $25, there is no way I'd give him 100!

Re: Would you send a gift?

I feel thats rude... but thats just me.
We invited a couple to our baby shower who we know will be on their honeymoon. But we didn't want hurt feelings. DH was afraid they'd think we just wanted a gift, so I told him to just send them a note saying "We know you'll be away, but didn't want to NOT invite you"

Re: Would you send a gift?

I would send a small gift or check for the same thing - around $25. It's not a lot of money to worry about somewhere down to road losing a friendship or connection over...

Same here. I don't think that I would've sent you an invite either- b/c knowing you'd be out of town I would feel like I was only sending you an invitation just so I could get a gift.
