We love Applewood Orchards in Warwick, NY (upstate - about 2 1/2 - 3 hrs from Hauppuage).

They have a winery too for the adults and have puppet shows for the kids and entertainment for the kids. I am not too sure about hayrides though.

I'm pretty sure there are a couple of places on the North fork. I think there's one just past the snack bar in Aquebogue, on the opposite side of the road when you're heading east. Sorry, I don't know the name of it.
Also, if you go on Sunday and do head out this way- the Riverhead Country Fair is this sunday and it's a big and nice fair.

Right, I heard that they have a hay ride and they stop off at certain spots and tell you what apples are there, and if there are any left.

I, myself, will be heading to NJ monday to go apple picking with my sister and nephews...and of course DH. Chat Icon

I live 1 town west of cutchogue and have never been to wickhams but they're always busy so they must be good!

I was highly recommended to go to Lewin's Farm.

Here is what I got from Lewins

Strawberries.................Sorry NO U-PICK this season

Peaches........................Middle of July to the end of
September

Tomatoes, Peppers,
Eggplant......................CLOSED

Apples.........................end of August to 1st week of October

Pumpkins....................end of September through
October

Christmas trees............day after Thanksgiving to
Christmas
