I know exactly what you mean. I used to work an office like that. Some people were so depsperate to get thoe green card that they would go to other lawyers and pay thousnads of dollars....many would copme back to us and ask us to help them. It's pretty sad!

seriously it is! i hate when ppl take advantage of them and make them believe in something and take their money. i have soooooooooo many clients come back after their case has been thru the ringer with those ppl.
just gets me so mad!

Hey, as long as you tried to do your best to help them then there's really not much else you CAN do.

I've come to terms with clients who ask advice and then don't take it. What I cannot stand is when they don't take my advice and then they claim that what they did is what I told them to do. When I hear a sentence that starts with "but you said," half the time it is not what I said. And so, I create ridiculous paper trails!!!

Ditto!!! It's typically 50% of what you said and a sprinkle of what they "thought they heard" along with something friends/family/advisors told them.
I tend to send follow up letters or e-mails after calls to make sure there is a record of what I said
