Would you be annoyed?
I'm just sitting here thinking about this now....
My 19 year old cousin comes every Tuesday and Thursday for three hours to watch Ava. I pay her A LOT of money. So, today, I got home to see that she brought her 13 year old brother with her (obviously, also my cousin), and she had her feet up on the couch, talking on her cell phone while my 13 yr. old cousin, who knows SQUAT about babies, was holding Ava and taking care of her. So, when I went to go pay my cousin, her brother yells to her, "HEY! What about me?! I DID ALL THE WORK!" 
And I KNOW that's most likely true. Especially because Ava's diaper was barely on her, so I know my little cousin must have put it on her considering he's a 13 year old boy who doesn't know HOW to put a diaper on.
So, I grabbed a ten from my cousin and gave it to her brother because I was pizzed and was afraid of yelling. What do I say?
This is not the first time I have had the thought that maybe she is not playing with Ava and being as attentive as a babysitter SHOULD be. I haven't said anything because I really didn't know, but now I HAVE to say something, but I don't know what.

I'm not afraid to have her watch Ava, I just think she's lazy. Like, Ava never goes in the swing, yet, somehow, stupid cousin of mine forgets to turn it off and I always see it swinging away when I get home and think hmmmm

yes, I would be annoyed and don't get me started with the cell phone thing, it's a huge pet peeve of mine. Maybe you could make a list of things for her to do so you know she is doing more than chatting away. After all, you are paying her a lot. Kids today

i agree...she is young still so she doesnt realize how important it is to have full attention on ava..and if she has time maybe she can do some chores

I would be annoyed and concerned. A 13 year old certainly isn't capable of handling a baby and she should know that. I would speak to her right away...

I would be very mad. If it has happened in the past then I think that would have been my straw I would be getting someone else regarding if it is family or not. She is their to care for Ava and she is not doing what you are paying her to do.

Yes- and I would talk to her about it. SHe has a responsibility to you and Ava. Its not like Ava is asleep.
I think it is reasonable for you to ask her not to talk on the cell phone except for emergencies. I would also give her a list of things to do with Ava and thigns not to do. When I babysat for one family in HS, the kids were 4 and 6 adn I was not allowed to watch TV with them. That way we always interacted and played.
