Cutting back on Formula? Doesn't want bottle? When? how much? Help me....

The past 4-5 days DD will not finish her 8 oz bottles. Sometimes she goes down for a nap on 2 oz and to bed on 4-5 oz.

I tried switching to level 3 nipples.....nope.

HEr appetite for solids is fine. No fever. Just a cold/cough again but her mood is GREAT.

Is she weaning herself off the bottle? Should I put the formula in her sippy cup?

She is probably filling up on the solids she might start cutting back her bottles to just 3 or 2 on her own which is less work for you.

Just let her be..... as long as she is wetting diapers and drinking at least 18 ounces she should be fine.

I would wait another week before switching to the cup you don't want her to cut out the formula completely.

Teething or an ear infection can also make them not want the bottle.

I'd give her some time before weaning her off the bottle completely although there is nothing wrong with introducing the sippy now, as long as it doesn't replace the bottle entirely.

thank you for the advice.....

she's NOT taking in 18 oz.

She takes 3 8 oz bottles a day, one after each meal before she goes down for her nap/bedtime. That's a total of 24 oz at the most.

No ear infection, checked that over the weekend.

Teething...maybe. But she eats solids like there is no tomorrow (most of the time)

ETA: she takes her water in a sippy cup with no problems.

You mentioned she has a cold so that could be a factor too.

DS has been doing the same thing since eating more cereal. He doesn't have a cold but it seems like since he's been eating cereal, it's like he's getting full on that.

Jacob only has like 3 bottles a day now.. he never seems to cry for one anymore. He has been on whole milk since 9 months but i would say he takes in about 20-24 oz a day of milk, the rest is solids.. I dont know, I just go with his lead.
