We're Homeowners!!!!
It's official, we closed on Monday.
Yay!!!
It's in Lindenhurst and we love the neighborhood.
ETA: Update with photos below.

We are now all moved in and loving it. It totally feels like home.
We cleaned and did the final emptying of our apartment on Friday and I got so sad. Looking at the spot where I put on my wedding dress, where we put up our first Christmas tree...but then lefgt to go to our house. It feels so good!
So much to do but so happy to do it.
Some of you might remember my VERY discouraged posts on LIW, I truly gave up and started looking in other areas of the country but low an bwhold we are now residents of Lindenhurst and very happy with our house.
Photos are with previous owner's stuff and we really want to paint the exterior - anything but pink.

It was built in 1935, kitchen and both baths are updated. It's all wood floors, and it's on an oversized lot which we totally love.
I think we want to paint the outside slate blue with white trim.
I want to put a chair rail in the DR and paint the bottom sage green and the top a warm sand color.
The kitchen wall paper will come down (soon I hope) and I want to paint the kitchen a very light yellow but not sure as there is a faux brick facade around the stove that is so kitchy I kinda like it, not sure if yellow works with the brick. I'm not thrilled with the black appliances but I'll keep them until they go kaput - which will be a while since they are only a few years old.
Here's a few more photos:
We love the sun porch and have eaten every meal out there so far. I'll try to take some photos soon so you can see what we've done differently so far.

Wow, that is lovely. My brother and SIL live in Lindenhurst and love it. We'd thought about it too, but our commutes would have been hideous.
