Moms of 4 month olds
Is your DC holding on to things or grabbing things and putting them in their mouths. My DD will swat at things on her play mat but will only hold things when I put them in her hand ( a rattle). I know that all babies are different. She can tripod and loves to stand when held but I am concerned about the previous.

My 3 month old just started grabbing her toys on her playmat and trying to put them in her mouth and if I set toys in front of her she will pick them up and put them in her mouth. My son did this too around 2 1/2 months so I thought my daughter was late. I am not sure at what age they are "suppose" to do this.

My DS is 3 months old (will be 3 months old on Sat) and he grabs his toys, his pacifier and puts his fingers in his mouth.

EVERYTHING goes in her mouth! I'd say she started grabbing things around 3 months.

Re: Moms of 4 month olds
Ellie wasn't really grabbing things unless I put them in her hand. What she did grab for were the toys hangning on the bouncy seat bar. Those were the only thing she reached for on her own. I had the fisher price bouncy seat with the kick toys and then I bought a $15 bouncy seat at Walmart for the upstairs bathroom so I didnt' have to keep lugging the other one up and down and it has toys hanging within reach and those she goes right for. Makes me wish we had used something like that earlier instead of the aquarium bouncer.
