Does the FMLA only pertain to US employees?
I know you have to have 12 employees in order to qualify but is that only US employees or employees for the entire company worldwide?

If your company is set up like mine which it most likely is the international employees are sub contractors, meaning they are contractors of your company and not employees.

I think it's 50 employees and you have to have been there for 12 months.

This is what I was told.... I missed the 12 month requirement by 4 weeks so I don't qualify for FMLA.
I also think it's at the discretion of the company if they want to offer FMLA. I have a friend whose company had less than 50 employees, but gave her the time off. She had it in writing that they would hold her job.

It is required for 50 employees or more but employers of any size can opt to allow it. My boss did. Get everything in writing for maternity leave and have it signed by your boss and HR.
