Was anyone shocked?
Was anyone shocked that it hasnt been as hard as they make it out to be?
I know I am lucky to have such a calm baby and that has tons to do with it but I just dont find it as hard as people said it would be. Maybe I shouldnt open my mouth because I will jinx it but Megan is so good, never cries, wakes up smiling. I Am truly blessed. And I guess for that, I am just enjoying everything. I cant lie and say I am not tired a lot of days but its nothing like I thought it would be. And she doesnt sleep through the night but I think its just being with her...anyone else feel this way?

Re: Was anyone shocked?
I not surprised that being a mother isn't that "hard." What has surprised me is how much more I do now then when I was working. I am SO MUCH busier then before and that has surprised me and not in a good way.

Well, you know my deal. Althought lately has been REALLY tough because she's teething and sick, I was very shocked by how manageable it is. Knock on wood, of course!

Re: Was anyone shocked?
I was surprised at how easy having 2 under 2 was for me.
Joseph was an extremely easy baby - but I wasn't prepared for how hard the first few months could be. I was surprised how easy it was after 3 months to get into a schedule.

Re: Was anyone shocked?
Well I may be one of the minority's but I am totally overwhelmed by how HARD its been for me since the moment he was born. I find EVERYTHING to be difficult. There hasnt been one day in 10 months that i have found easy. I am assuming it is due to the fact that he is a high maintenace baby and most days I have to admit I am not enjoying myself. I look back at pics of him over the past 10 months and although I am in awe over how much he has grown, I would never want to go back to ANY one of those days. I actually find myself wishing he was 4 or 5 already. I am happy for all you girls with easy babies.. you are all truly blessed.

Same here, although the under 2 years was only by 3 days!
I have 2 very good children. I mean they have their days, but I am very lucky overall.

I never found the "baby" stage to be hard, but I was lucky with 3 really easy, happy, calm babies.

Yes, I am very blessed by my 9 week olds! After all the comments I have received (and continue to receive), all of the gratuitous advice, so far raising my twins has been a joy. Everyone has their days, of course, but overall I have had a wonderful time and already cannot believe how quickly time flies!

Re: Was anyone shocked?
OMG The first six months of having a baby is HELL, I think the easy part is forgetting how hellish it could be! I want my next one to be born at six months! That I can handle!
Lets see what I miss...waking up in the night, not knowing how to settle the kid, pumping my boobies 4 times a day for 7 months because the kid threw up every time I gave him formula, not being able to put him down, crying all the time, do I miss that...HELL NO!!

Re: Was anyone shocked?
Yeah, I guess I'm in the minority too b/c it's soooo much harder than I thought it would be and it's soooo much harder than working. It does seem to be getting easier as she gets older, but still much tougher than I ever imagined.

Re: Was anyone shocked?
I felt that the baby stage was the easiest for me, Jenna was a wonderful infant. But know TODDLER stage it's a whole new ball game!!! I find it extremely challanging especially with working full time.

Re: Was anyone shocked?
Being home in the beginnig wasn't hard for me it was more when I went back to work. Getting into that routine wasn't easy and even now getting out of the house everyday is a chore.

Re: Was anyone shocked?
In the beginning I think I was a little overwhelmed just in the fact that my personal routine was "off" but Jenna was a suprisingly easy baby, great sleeper from 6 weeks on. I think it is just tough on my personal situation since I work nights 8pm-8am and pre baby I would come home from work and sleep till ike 5pm but now I come home from work, and have no sitter so I am up aallll day with maybe a small nap so I feel very rundown a lot.

Re: Was anyone shocked?
I'm so afraid of even posting on this thread for fear that I would jinx my blessing of having an easy baby.
But yes, I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that becoming a Mommy was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be.

Re: Was anyone shocked?
I have to say, I was terrified at being a mom. Girls, I like my sleep. And when I don't get my sleep, it is NOT pleasant to be in my company. But I luckily have a complete 50/50 DH. Everything I do, I know I have a back-up. For every time I get up to soothe my teething baby back to sleep, I know I won't have to do it the next time
I lucked out with an easy-going baby that smiles a lot. But I think that all-in-all I have been pretty lucky to have been blessed with Bella.
Don't get me wrong, being a full-time working mom is HARD...but when I walk in the door at night to her squeals it is awesome and makes it so easy.

Re: Was anyone shocked?
Yes and No.
People acted like I was going to want to kill myself with having twin boys, I got so many negative comments. I thought they were crazy but ti started to worry me at the end.
I was so lucky that I have good babies so it has been easier then I was told, but I already thought people were nuts.
