Soon-2-B-Mommies of 2 under 2

I know I have a while to go, but what are some things that you will have to purchase?

I'm trying to think of what I will need.

Re: Soon-2-B-Mommies of 2 under 2

how long does a child use a high chair? I know they don't start using it till they sit up but when do they outgrow it? Will I need two high chairs?

Also on the bottles, I know a 1 year old who only uses cups. Is this the normal? or do 1 year olds still use bottles?

what double stroller is everyone looking at? i havent started researching them yet.

will the babies be sharing a room? right now we are renting out our upstairs so we only have 2 bedrooms to ourself. I'm not sure how I am going to fit 2 cribs.

Sorry for all the questions.

**My daughter is 14 mos. and still using her highchair. She could easily be in a booster at the table though if I needed her to.

Also on the bottles, I know a 1 year old who only uses cups. Is this the normal? or do 1 year olds still use bottles?
**DD still drinks from bottles, but my niece who is 3 days older drinks totally from sippy cups.

what double stroller is everyone looking at?
**Don't get me started I'm so stressed!! I think I might be leaning slightly towards side-by-side.

will the babies be sharing a room?
**DD will be moving to her "big girl" bedroom, while the baby will go in the nursery.

To answer the original question...
Bottles
Onesies
Double stroller
Crib--but may try to borrow
Burp cloths

I think you could get away with one crib... if you are willing to stretch your new babies time in the bassinette. Then you could eventually put your daughter in a toddler bed when it is time to move the other baby in a crib.

Instead of a high chair get booster seat.

Sippy cups instead of bottles.

I think a double stroller is a must.

An extra monitor or one that has dual cameras.

As far as the bottles go, Alex has been off the bottle since 14 months. He drinks exclusively from sippy cups or my glass.

Re: Soon-2-B-Mommies of 2 under 2

I have seen some babies in highchairs til they are 2-3 years old. We already have a booster seat for Gianna, so when #2 is big enough for the high chair, Gianna will be able to sit in the booster seat.

We only have 2 bedroom townhouse, our bedroom is much bigger than Gianna’s current room, so when #2 comes we will be switching rooms. Since this baby was a total surprise, we will have to make due, we didn’t plan on trying for #2 until we had a house with at least 3 bedrooms in a year or two.

Double strollers, ugh, don’t even want one and I am going to try to make due without it! I already have 3 strollers I love, I don’t want anymore! By the time #2 comes Gianna will be able to sit up in carts and such, and I will use the stroller frame and go from there. It will work out, we never do errands alone anyways.

I plan on getting Gianna out of bottles around 10-12 months, so hopefully she will be mostly sippy cups by then, but I want new ones for the new baby, Gianna uses the 9oz ones wayyy more than the 4oz since I exclusively BF for 4 months with her.

Nate is currently still using his high chair at 17 months. We'll switch him to a booster seat when the baby is ready to use the highchair

Nate stopped using bottle around 13 months.... He likes to drink from a straw, so we give him milk in a sippy cup w/straw.

Haven't decided on a double stroller yet. I saw one by Baby Trend where the back seat converts to a sit and stand. Since Nate will be 20 months, I think we'll need a regular seat for him for a few more months.

Our house is 3BR, but one of them is on the first floor. Since we are having another boy, we don't need to do too much to Nate's room. We just need to buy another crib and find a way to position both of them in th room. We toyed with the idea of giving them our room since it's bigger, but DH was not keen about the idea.

Re: Soon-2-B-Mommies of 2 under 2

our bedroom is also bigger but the problem is our furniture will not fit in the other room. If we take the toy box and rocker out we could probably fit another crib in an "L" shape. It will be tight but they are still so young it doesnt really matter to them
