Putting Up Border
is a nightmare. We tried doing some of the room this AM. Directions say soak in water, let it "rest" then hang.. We get it on the wall and there are all creases! Anyone have any suggestions, tricks to hanging it? We even tried "smoothing it out".. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Re: Putting Up Border
I've put up more wallpaper and border than I can shake a stick at, so I'll give it a try. If you're putting the border up over a painted wall, make sure the wall is free from any dirt. I would, also, prime the wall. This make it easier to take the border down when you want to without damaging the wall and it will, also, make the border stay up. This is the main reason why people have such a hard time taking down wallpaper and border - the wall was never primed first. Soak the border in very warm bordering on hot (not cold) water. I've never let any border or wallpaper "rest", so I'm not sure what they are asking you to do. I use a warm, wet rag to smooth it out. Sometimes, if the paper is especially thick or too thin, this can take a few tries. I, usually, smooth from left to right. Hold the border with your left and smooth with your right. If any glue from the backing should slide out, just wipe it off the wall.
If you're putting the border up over wallpaper, you must prime the wallpaper first and then just proceed as above. It's really not too hard once you get the hang of it. Good luck.
