oh i am so confused with giving cereal!

so we started hannah today on cereal. she did great! this morning she had her 6am bottle and then at 9:30 she ate 1 tbsp of cereal mixed with 1 oz of formula. i gave her the cereal before her bottle and then she did not want to eat the formula. i waited an hour and 1/2 and then she took it. but now she hasnt had anything to eat since. she is refusing the bottle. eek! this is so frustrating. did i do the cereal wrong? did i give her too much?

That is exactly what we did with Ali when we started giving it to her.
You didn't do anything wrong.
She is probably not use to the cereal that is why she is off a little bit - she is probably full.

She might become hungry again soon.
If I remember correctly with Ali, after she had her cereal she wouldn't eat again for 4-5 hours later. Eventually she got on a schedule

You will find that she will probably eat less once you introduce cereal, however, I always give a bottle first, then cereal for this very reason.

It took a while, but this is what we have settled on as far as a routine goes:

6am- 7oz. bottle
8am 2tbsp. cereal, 1/2 jar sweet potatoes
11am- 6-7oz bottle
3pm- 6-7oz. bottle
5pm- 2tbsp. cereal, 1/2 jar sweet potatoes
7pm-6-7oz bottle.


You just have to find teh right combo for her and feed her when she's hungry for the first couple of weeks, then you'll probably see a pattern form.
