I have a lump
under my left armpit and it is very sore
I am very nervous because my mom keeps saying this could be serious
has anyone else ever had this??

I did, it was really sore and hard... I went to my gyno and he laughed and said it was an ingrown hair.
People told me that you only had to worry if it was not painful??? But who knows if "THEY" are right.
If you are worried, go to the doc... I hope he sets your mind at ease!!

are you sick? Perhaps its just a swollen gland?
I've had swollen glands on my neck, etc. when I was sick with mono.. It may just be your body fighting off something :)
I'd call my dr anyway - it will put your mind at ease to have someone else look at it!!

I would have the Dr check it out. Liek everyone said it could be soo many different things, but definatly a Dr. Needs to see it.

I have had these - obviously I am not a dr. and you will want to get it checked out - but I have a few questions for you:
Can you move it around?
Does it seem embedded deep into your armpit, or more like a lump rolling around under the skin?
If the above questions are yes, you can move it around, and it seems fairly superficial, its a sebacious cyst. They go away on their own. I remember feeling one when I was 25 and freaking out....

I got these early on and I was told they can be a symptom of pregnancy.
There's hormonal and fluid shifts in your body and it can cause lymph nodes to get swollen.
If it doesn't go away on its own in a few days, call a doc. But mine would come and go pretty quickly.
They hurt like a monkey though!!!

Last time I was PG I got this-it was a swollen gland as another poster said. You should go to the Dr anyway just to be on the safe side.

I'm not pregnant, but I had this about a month ago and it hurt like he!!....I was concerned at first, but it went away after a few days. It actually started a day after I shaved... so it was probably an ingrown hair

I would get it checked out but my dr. told me during pregnancy it is not uncommon to come across a lump b/c you can block a sweat gland, swollen milk gland, etc. Just get it checked but don't drive yourself crazy yet. Lumps can also be caused by hormones and we know ours are crazy right now!
