breastfeeding question..
if you are strictly pumping, and doing it every 4 hrs, what do you do if you are going to be in the city all day..do you bring a pump with you? 9 hrs is going to be a loooong time..thanks for your help

I haven't been in this situation yet but I would def. bring a pump with me and find someplace to pump. Even if you don't save the milk you'll need the relief and you don't want to mess with your milk supply.

I would bring a hand pump and slip away somewhere to pump if you feel that you need to. I know that skipping one or two pumps every once in a while won't hurt your supply (I know because I skipped a pump on occasion) but if you are feeling engorged, you might want to slip away for a quick pump!

I had to go away for the day and planned on pumping in the middle of the day but I forgot a key element to the pump - by the time I got home I was in pain
