I saw this CNN this morning. She looked like a lunatic and I felt bad for the kid. He was on CNN talking about the trigger words she was saying which activated his PTSD. Ex. Mentioning the shooters name. It’s so sad, I felt so bad for him.

i was listening to a republican analyst being interviewed about the party and he was commenting about how liz cheney is getting more push back from the party than this nut job because the republicans are afraid of losing the loons that believe this bullsh*t.
at the end of the day... i don't care if we don't agree on policy or how conservative or liberal your views are... this actually makes us better. it's when smart people with power are allowing this stupidity to carry on because they're afraid of upsetting some loony voters.
how about you go out there and educate your constituents instead of bowing down to the bullsh*t they are being fed???

I read today in the NYT that they are being about measures to have her expelled from Congress because of her statements about killing Democrats.
They introduced the bill this morning in the House, hope they get this lunatic out.

She had attempted to ask Ms Greene about a resolution introduced by Democrat congressman Jimmy Gomez on the same day, that could expel her from Congress over previous comments.
The WRCBtv crew, who showed their invitation and press credentials to the sheriff’s deputy, were escorted out of the town hall after the reporter’s intervention.
That was when the sheriff’s deputy threatened them with arrest and charges of criminal trespassing if they did not leave the facility.

There is nothing redeeming about her. She also has a history of gross, prejudiced social media postings,
I wish we as a society could figure out what her appeal was to so many people that she got elected. She is, imo, nasty & forgettable, but her appeal to so many is concerning and inexplicable. I guess this is really who we, or at least large swaths of us, are.

The issue is that the Republican party will never win another presidential election in this country without a combination of voter suppression and/or the fringe lunatics.
They don't have the votes.
The few demographic groups that are solid Republican like white non college educated voters are stagnant or shrinking while the demographic groups that are in the Democratic camp are mostly expanding.
Voter suppression has been challenged with some success so they must embrace the fringe lunatics.
The crazies bring in the conspiracy theorists, Qanon, the "own the libs" crowd, etc. who get whipped into a frenzy and generate excitement about the candidate and all that increases voter turnout.
Just as importantly, the crazies are the ones who spread disinformation and populist lies that are swallowed by people who aren't "crazy" but like what they hear.
Take, for example, Trump's claim that he had a "beautiful health care plan." Most people knew that he didn't and never would, but many probably voted for him because they genuinely wanted better health care.
While there are nice stories of decent Republicans trying to jump off the crazy train and vote for Biden (i.e. the Lincoln Project) the truth is that most fall in line. While Biden's victory was clear, 74 million votes is not insignificant. The fact that it wasn't much lower helped them bet that they have more to lose by repudiating Trumpism than by embracing it.

Plus, in the old days, there were like 4 tv channels and 3 newspapers in a region, and while there are many reasons why this was not the best thing either, pre-internet, there were more filters in place to keep the general public from being out and out brainwashed by conspiracy theorists. You actually had to find them or join a cult or something.
The internet/youtube/twitter, etc. has provided a platform/rabbithole to every nutjob that wants one and can elevate their voices at or above the level of those who stick to facts and reason--because their voices are so damned loud and rage-y.
Bored people who need a way to vent their anger at the world and who love feeling like they're hip to what's "really" going on or on the inside of the drama flock like... (I don't want to say "sheep" lol) to conspiracy theories. That's how you get the elevation of the Alex Joneses and the MTG's and the rise of hate, conspiracy theories, Holocaust denial, science hostility, Islamophobia, etc.
Our last election was interfered with by foreign forces that mixed in among us online and exploited racial tensions and other divisions and fault lines. We now know that many of these same forces planted incendiary misinformation about the pandemic designed to turn people against one another and cause maximum harm. But people still want to get their educations down a youtube rabbithole or in the comments section of the internet. So the loony voters have power.
i like what JennP said--at a certain point, the numbers simply won't be there.
