Sleeping in cribs...

What did you do to get your baby to sleep in the crib at night? Connor is still sleeping in his bouncer but I would like for him to start sleeping in his crib. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Katherine didn't go in her crib until 3 months. She slept in the bassinet before that.

I don't have any personal suggestions regarding the bouncy seat thing, but I have heard of friends putting the bouncy directly in the crib--to get him acclimated that way if he's not ready to switch totally yet.

Sydney has been in her crib from the start... which is in our room right now because her nursery is upstairs and we arent ready for her to be up there yet obviously. I guess we got lucky because we didnt have any problems at all!

No suggestions because we didn't even attempt it until 6 months, she slept in our room until then. When we tried, it was a smooth transition so I guess she was ready.

Re: Sleeping in cribs...

We started out by letting Michael play in his crib during the day. I'd turn on his mobile and let him look at it and just let him spend time in there looking around at his room, making it a happy place for him and make him comfortable. I never changed his diaper or clothes in there, I just strictly left it for play.
I did this just about every day starting out at about 2 months until he got used to being in there. Then at 3 months we had no problems at all getting him to sleep in there.

Andrew went in his crib at 3 months. Up until then he was sleeping in his bouncer.

I just put him in there with some music and a nightlight and that was it.Chat Icon

We keep the same routine everynight which I heard helps.

DD was sleeping in her cradle for about 2 weeks but she really hated it so we just put her in the crib and she slept for a few hours in it here and there when she wasn't screamingChat Icon
