how many games?
how many games are a reasonable number of games for a co-ed baby shower that will last about 3-4 hours?
shower will be at a restaurant at lunch time.

Re: how many games?
4? No more than 1 per hour of the party.
TBH I hate those games. I like to do some that sit around and people can choose whether to participate or not without feeling guilty. Like matching the celebrity to their baby picture on a poster board that sits somewhere in the room and give a deadline to enter and calculate the winners later. or a guess how many hershey kisses are in the baby bottle type thing. Baby bingo while she is opening gifts so people have something to doodle on while ohhing and ahhing the gifts. Other than that simple stuff, I really dislike baby shower games.

These are the type of games I like best. No real pressure to play and not in your face

how many games?
the older i get, the less i like the games. but... i was surprised that the mom-to-be kept mentioning games when we were talking about the party... so there will be games.
4! that's a number i can easily work with.
i'm thinking.... 1. guess who (one large frame or poster board with a few baby pictures of family members. people guess who is which baby) 2. baby bingo 3. decorate the onesie station 4. diaper pong 5. MAYBE... diaper raffle. i still don't know how i feel about asking people to bring a pack of diapers ON TOP OF a gift. but i've heard that it's popular out here.
a couple of these can be "played" throughout the party and don't need much supervision. i don't want to be julie the cruise director the entire time.
ok. i think this is all reasonable. thanks.

None.
Sorry. I hated the decorate a onesie thing. I don't mind Bingo but stop paying attention about half way thru.

Re: how many games?
Id skip the onesie, like what does one really do with them afterwards? Im not putting my kid in them, I threw them out (if Im being honest).
Personally though, none. I never participate, unless its a passive game. Like, set the timer and when it goes off whoevers gift she is opening, wins a prize.
Bingo is OK, but like the above poster, I stop paying attention about half way through.
I like the guess how many "whatever things" in a jar bc it takes two seconds.
Ive been to a few where they froze little plastic babies in ice cubes, and who ever had the cube that melted first and "freed" the baby, which floated to the top of their drink, won a prize. I enjoyed that bc I didnt really have to do anything.

Re: how many games?
I am not a fan of Showers. I'm there to socialize bc my kids aren't around and have a drink. LOL
I do like the timer one where you set a timer for every 5 - 10 mins or so and if the person is opening your gift when the timer goes off you get a prize. This way people actually pay somewhat attention and it's not so boring. Bingo is ok. I can handle that.

LOL same. I was at a bridal shower where they had all these things to fill out on the table and it felt like work. So I hid mine under my chair when they came around to collect them and said I had already handed it in to someone else. But I'm a rebel like that....

how many games?
Zero.
Adults can entertain themselves with food, drink and conversation. I think they are totally unnecessary.

how many games?
Games that are not forced are nice and add to the whole ambiance. Guess how many, matching baby photos, ice cube melting, timer when opening gifts are all good and non threatening to those not interested in games. I will add we did an optional onsie decorating station and it was huge hit, there was some truly amazing art work done and she did use many of the onsies. It also gave some of the quieter people something to do and got people talking too

Re: how many games?
I shoved mine in my purse. There were like 10 of them for each guest. Hate it. And not what I am at a shower for. So unnecessary.

This - to be honest, I've never seen any other kind of "traditional" games at a co-ed shower

One. I hate shower games, also not a huge fan of showers in general. But if you have to have one, Im a fan of setting the timer and whoever-es gift they are opening gets a prize.

One if you have too. Last one I was at we had to fill out the bingo card with gifts we thought she would get and them mark them off as she opened them. People liked it. I cheated and pulled up her registry on my phone to get it over with.

Re: how many games?
3 or 4.
I always think the gift BINGO is good if gifts will be opened, to keep people interested/engaged. Just be sure you have a lot of prizes on hand as there tends to be a lot of winners.
You can do some easy ones that don't take long. For example, I went to a recent shower that had a bunch of baby socks in a large decoration baby bottle (the kind you get at party city or whatever). You can have people guess how many are in there (they can go up and do it at their own leisure). Winner gets a prize and mom/dad to be get the socks.
Maybe an activity - not a game - like write some advice for the new parents (and then you can make a scrapbook for them with all of the advice).
I don't mind shower games; some people dislike them, but to me, that's part of what makes it a shower/special occasion versus a lunch gathering. It's a nice way to celebrate the mom/parents to be. But it's a fine line between a few shower activities/games versus too many, where people feel annoyed and don't have time to eat, chat, relax.
