Birthday Part Dilemna
My daughter's birthday falls over Easter/Spring break this year and I am having such a hard time finding a date to have her party. The weekend before is Easter the weekend of we are away and the weekend after we have other family events that make it very difficult to have her party.
So my choices seem to be a Friday 4:30-6:30 or Friday 6:15-8:15, or the Saturday afternoon before Easter. Which would you prefer?
I know the issues with friday nights but are most people busy on Easter Eve ?
--- Its for a 5th birthday so kids range from 4-7 mostly.
ETA: Sorry if I confused the explantion of weekends.
The options would be 4/20 (the day before Easter) or 5/3 (the friday after spring break is over) . We would be away 4/27 and 4/28/

Is it Friday the weekend of Easter? Its tricky because it is the start of spring break for many, so a lot of people might travel. Same with Easter Eve, and a lot of people may go to egg hunts that day or prep if they are hosting.
I would probably push it to two weeks after her birthday, but if you didn't I would do the Friday one that ends at 630. Not sure how old the kids are but 8:15 is late.

Re: Birthday Part Dilemna
For us the Sat before Easter would be fine- but I don't host or anything. I would guess that people who are hosting would be busy cooking , cleaning etc
If you do go with the Friday I'd go with the later time slot so more working parents can make it.

What about having her party the weekend before Easter or the weekend after spring break? I think a lot of people will already have plans with family or will be away for speing break.

I read it as they are away the weekend before Easter and have other plans the weekend after.

Oh ok, it was a little confusing. I would push it out 2 weekends before or after then.

I'd go with the Saturday before Easter. I don't think as many people travel for Easter as other holidays as most people work the Monday after. People with school age kids may travel, but it sounds like most the party is younger. It's two hours, so even if your hosting Easter the next day, it's not a huge time commitment, and it's later so they'd have all morning to clean/prepare. Friday evenings are always hard I think because everyone is tired from the day.

The Friday night would be better on our end as we typically celebrate Easter on a Saturday. But it’s Good Friday so many may have family obligations that day. Schools are typically closed and many people have off so I would do 4:30-6:30.
Do what works best for you.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I assumed friday would not be an option bc it's good friday. I'm not religious so I really am just guessing the whole weekend of Easter is out. I'm thinking the friday or saturday after for dd's party. One year we did a weekday morning during the break and it worked well for everyone but i knew most parents were teachers so they wouldn't be working.

It would be Sat 4/20 (Easter Eve) or Fri 5/3 (After Spring Break is over). (5/4 and 5/5 are not possible)

Thanks, it would be 5/3 (the Friday after Spring break) I would avoid a party on Good Friday for religious reasons.

In that case I would prefer the earlier friday party (though working parents may struggle with that) or saturday. The other option is later than I would like.

My DS' 5th birthday is the 25th and we are having his party on May 5th due to the break.
In your case, I would do the earlier Friday party. Most kids at my DS' daycare are picked up earlier on Fridays.

I'd go to a party if it was the Saturday before Easter. But we usually do not go away during Spring Break. Friday would be a little more difficult for me as a working parent.

Friday party. But if you have lots of working parents go with the later time. Even 615 is tough for anyone with a city commute.

We don’t have vacay plans. Easter eve would be fine for me. I think a Friday night kids party would be a little hectic for me. I think it’s gonna be tough either way though....

Just have the party a weekend that works for you. It does not have to be exactly the same weekend as her birthday. You could have it 3 weeks later if that is what works better for your family. Don't stress and cram it in, just hold it a few weeks later.
