Cabin Fever - Ideas for the Weekend?

My family is suffering from some serious cabin fever. We're so tired of just hanging around the house, but we can't think of anything to do. My kids are 4 and almost 2 - so they're a little young for most "activities." The weather has been cold and wet, and there are only so many trips to Target that we can justify to get out the house. We want to walk around and let the kids explore somewhere, but we just don't have ideas. Any recommendations to get out of the house? (preferably that don't cost a lot) Open to something local or even a day trip.

I always go to my library to rent museum passes and spend the whole day there! Check out library for passes, usually it covers 4’people depending on your library, we like LICM, children’s museum in the hamptons, cradle of aviation and if you want to go to the city, the intrepid museum. My twins just turned 2 and we have been doing the museums since they turned 1 so you will definitely find something for your family!

Avalon is amazing if it’s on the warmer side-i have a 4 and 2 year old also and they love it.

Other ideas we love (and museum passes from the library are great!):

LICM
Cradle of Aviation (both of these you can also do the carousel that’s right there)
Jones Beach
Bounce House/Trampoline place
Xplore in port Jeff
A day in the city

A bit further but still fun:

Crayola factory
Please touch museum
Montage mountain in pa
LEGO discovery in westchester

I have heard of it, but wasn't sure if we'd be bored.
(i wouldn't go this weekend- since it's going to be cold and shittyy out, but curious for the spring)

We have bringing to places like Xplore in Port Jeff. She even likes just walking around the mall but she is 2 so doesnt take much to keep her entertained.

Children's museum of the east end is great for that age. Our library offers free passes for that.
Think big theater in patchogue does a cute little show on sundays for little ones.
Patchogue Y has a nice indoor climbing area.
Library play areas.

There really is nothing to do, It's more of a nature walk. We have only been twice, but my kids enjoyed it and have asked to go back.

We took the kids swimming last weekend during an open family swim. It was cold and rainy outside and it helped get all the energy out - everyone took a long nap afterwards. Chat Icon

We went to Echo Park but there was an article in Newsday with a whole list of places:

It’s just a really nice park-one of the best on the island IMO. My kids adore it there, as do i. We’re about 45 minutes away and still go every 2-3 weeks when the weather is nice.

My kids REALLY love Chuck E. Cheese so we have been going there. Also, they like the open bounce at Bounce U, Bouncers and Slydos, etc. There's also the open play at Once Upon a Tree top
