Frontier Airlines
Is there a catch? Why is it so inexpensive? I’m not complaining but just weary...it came to $91.60 to fly round trip to Florida in March...

Re: Frontier Airlines
No catch. Ive flown them many many times since they started in Islip for prices similar or less than you mentioned. I swear by them, as it makes it easier to see family in Fla. Southwest pricing has gotten ridiculous.

Thank you! My parents moved to Florida too so with these prices you really can’t beat it!

You will appreciate having this airline then. I also have booked a day before leaving and got these prices. Enjoy your trip! ??

It’s no frills. The seats don’t recline and aren’t very comfortable but for a trip to FL they are fine. You have to pay for bags even carry on but I pack super light and only bring a carryon for the family since I usually fly to visit my parents and we can do laundry. Just know that because they don’t fly multiple flights a day if you get delayed or cancelled it can be a process but they will compensate you via a voucher

Re: Frontier Airlines
We are trying them out in June for a flight to Myrtle Beach. I just got an email that they changed the flight times slightly (now departing an hour and 40 min earlier). I'm hoping for no cancellations because then I will have to wait a few days to get on the next flight

We used them once, and had no issues. Booked 2 days in advance for $39 to Disney. It was great! Half a tray table, seats weren't that comfy, but who cares on a short flight and for the price. We were on time. And honestly, I've read more delays on Southwest recently than Frontier!

I haven't flown them yet but would like to try them out in August. I am waiting for the August fares to be released. Right now they only have through August 11th.

my sister in law just flew them to FL last week and it was a nightmare... the issue is once they have a delay or a cancellation its all down hill bc they don't have a lot of planes of flights.

I love being able to book last minute for the great price. Like you said, half a tray table and seats are less comfortable but it’s doable to Florida. They have gotten lots better with delays since they first started in Islip

See I'd try them if I was going to visit family or something and if I had flexibility. But not for an important vacation where the hotel is already booked, and I only have certain days off. My vacations are too precious and few and far between to take a risk of missing out on several days. No way. I know I get ripped off, but I really don't care

Exactly! It works for me visiting family. I wouldnt fly them if I had an important vacation booked.

I totally agree I’m going to book it and just hope everything works out I’m flying with my service dog which makes me anxious, he’s never been on a plane before! I wish my parents never moved but I am looking forward to some sunshine:)

But my friend had the same with Southwest recently. After her cruise, their flight was cancelled on Southwest, couldn't re-book them for TWO DAYS. It was a joke! So all these "budget"airlines are the same really.

Frontier Airlines
Meanwhile As cheap as it sounds it’s not so different then the prices I got from Jet Blue after all was entered...initially Fronteir was $86 but then at check out you have to pay for bags and seat selection the totally came to $201 Jet Blue was $238....I stuck with frontier because I am bringing my service dog and already spoke to someone about it. Anyway I’m excited for some sun and to see my parents (it’s only been 6 weeks but I miss them)!! My DH is going on a business trip to China so it’s perfect timing! (And service dog is free)

But one is from ISP and the other from JFK. I think the headache of traveling out of JFK makes Frontier and flying out of ISP totally worth it.

Thank you! I only picked so I could be up front with my pup but if I go without him next time I’m definitely not picking a seat, it was an additional $50

This airport is my dream. So stress free. It’s hard getting around an airport with 4 kids and this is amazing.
