Nice / Safe running trails (dirt/grass) in Nassau?
Hey all - does anyone know of running paths in Nassau that seem safe (I mean reasonably safe from being assaulted, or at least are generally well-populated) where it’s possible to run mostly on dirt/grass?
Even it’s just enough room to run on dirt/grass next to a paved path?
My knee can’t take running on pavement. Thank you!

Nice / Safe running trails (dirt/grass) in Nassau?
I am no sure where you are located, but you could run at Eisenhower Park. They have paved paths, but you could run next to the paths. I would assume they get a decent amount of traffic so you're not isolated. I've become more and more cautious as I get older.

DH runs on the Bethpage bike trail. It’s paved but there are dirt trails through the woods running alongside. I also walk our dog in the trail by myself and feel safe.

I run and stay away from bethpage as a female. There have been reports of flashers and I have seen some shady things when I have been with my family. It sucks cause I’d love to run there but would never early or late. Mid day maybe but all my runs are before 7 am.

This. I live in Farmingdale and the preserve starts there and keeps going.

I’ve run the Bethpage paved path with my DH. I personally would not run it alone. It is not very well traveled in my opinion.
