Does anyone have recommendations?
My 4.5 year old just had an OT/PT eval. She qualifies for both and they also suggested getting her vision tested for depth perception and binocular vision.
The OT said during a tracking activity that she had some trouble but she also indicated that it is difficult to test that way in a 4 year old because they don't really "get" that they have to keep their head still and only move their eyes to track the object. The PT said she was a little hesitant going down the top few stairs without a railing but did fine with the rest so perhaps her depth perception is off.
Anyway, does anyone have experience in this area? We live in mid-Suffolk. I'm not sure if we need a developmental optometrist or developmental ophthalmologist. When I Google vision therapy, both come up. TIA!
ETA: The OT gave 2 names... Dr. Theresa Rua and Dr. Sandra Ahn-Lee. Has anyone ever seen either of these doctors?

Hi, My LO goes to Eye Vision Associates in Nesconset on Smithtown Blvd. There are very few doctors on Long Island that are certified developmental optometrist and offer VT.
If you're in mid Suffolk I would recommend Professional Vision Care. Dr. Valle, Dr. Podell and Dr. Schmidt or Dr. Meltzer at Eye Vision Associates.
For depth perception I would look into Syntonics in NYC (light therapy) Dr. Shapiro is the only doctor to offer in our area. Syntonics is amazing! The results are super fast and profound! Feel free to PM with any questions.
