PSEG Scam
This was posted on another board. Wanted to share.
"You may receive a call from an 800 number (mine was from 800-876-1060) and a guy named "Anthony from PSEG" who will tell you he is in a truck and is scheduled to turn your power off in 45 minutes. He will tell you your actual address. "You probably received a pink slip notice in the mail." He tells you the only way you will be able to stop this guy from coming to turn it off is for you to call the billing department (he will fumble and give you a phone number to call, he's a good actor). If you look up that number on the internet you will find it isn't associated with any business.
I looked up the REAL PSEG billing dept number, confirmed I had a zero balance, and the customer service woman confirmed it was a scam. She had received several reports yesterday of "Anthony" calling customers, and their security department is investigating."

I love that those phone calls come up as "Scam Likely" on my cell now. Not that I answer numbers I don't really know anyway.

I love that those phone calls come up as "Scam Likely" on my cell now. Not that I answer numbers I don't really know anyway.
My caller ID on my Verizon phone at home lists them as SPAM.
Gotta love it

LOL! Seriously, who answers their phone???? I would have no idea if I get these calls because my phone is not answered unless I know who is calling( and sometimes not even then!)

LOL! Seriously, who answers their phone???? I would have no idea if I get these calls because my phone is not answered unless I know who is calling( and sometimes not even then!)
There are only 5 people I answer my phone for
DH
My Mom
My Dad
My sister
My daughter's school calling during the school day
Everyone else better hang up and text me.

I get this at work all the time. I tell them to come on over and shut it off, we don't use the electric here anymore. Then I try not to laugh as they sit there in silence.

I had something suspicious as well regarding PSEG but it was an actual person knocking on the door. He said he wanted to install an automatic reader on our electric meter which he referred to as being in our basement. As far as I know, the only meter in our basement is our gas meter. I said we already had one installed and shut the door.

Wait- there was an official letter from PSEG about new meters and regulators being installed. However, they said they'd be entering a home only if your electric meter is in the basement. If it's outdoors, they'll just do it. As if to say, Beware of a dude on your lawn
