Homeless in this cold?

I haven’t seen or heard much about what our state or pretty much any state that is being hit with this unrelenting cold we are having.
Anyone have any input? Extra shelters with Opening houses of worship, hospitals, etc?

I couldn’t imagine being on the street In general but in this cold

In my local facebook group they posted some info last week when we had the first really brutal snap.
I have to go back and re-read it

My area does cold blue whenever it falls below freezing for the homeless. It’s on the news all the time.

I work in psych emergency I worked until 6, we went on diversion meaning police can’t bring anymore people because we were at capacity, some patients were the regulars coming in for warmth. ER was packed there were beds all lined in the hallway. This week with the cold the hospital is 200 patients over capacity at any given moment. We also have multiple people that sleep in the lobby. While it’s a security risk, security haven’t been forcing these people to leave in the cold hut we do have security in the lobby, so sad. We also discharge to shelters and so many times they are full
