Is anyone else following the Jayme Closs story?
My God the details are so disturbing and heart wrenching! That is some scary ish. I hope that poor girl gets the help she needs to get through this trauma and go on to live a semi-normal life. And that guy really needs to be put out to pasture. What a sicko

I have been! What bugs me the most is the people saying "Oh she's definitely involved!" Sure there have been cases when a "kidnapping" wasn't that but there's been NO previous link to the family and this guy before he admits to seeing her board the bus on his way to work.
I can't even imagine what that girl had to go through and I'm sure some details are being withheld because... why did he kidnap her and keep her? To hide her under his bed? I guess it could be- the guy is clearly unbalanced.
I'm just amazed that she got out and got to safety!

Omg yes. Horrifying. Especially hearing how she was kidnapped. Her mom bear hugging her in the bathtub after the dad was shot. Then he demanded the mom get off her and made the mom be the one to duck tape her before he shot her in the head.

Is anyone else following the Jayme Closs story?
Such a crazy story. That he was able to drive up and do all this in just four minutes and drive off is horrifying. It definitely makes me glad I don't live in a rural area. Wtf was this guy thinking? Were there warning signs? I haven't heard anything to that effect but obviously he is seriously messed up.

I honestly didn't know she was missing until she was found. But I have been following it since.
But I was wondering... Why is there even bail set??? I know that no one will pay his bail... But the fact that he admitted it and KILLED 2 people and they set a bail for him.
And also NBC said, that he most likely will spend the rest of his life... Most likely???
I just feel bad for her because there is no one like your parents. At that age I would just want my mom. My heart breaks for her.

I did think that it was someone she met online but obviously it was just someone who she didn’t know that stalked her. So sad and frightening.

The guy from America's Most Wanted was on GMA this morning and he was really going off about the situation. He seemed to have a lot of inside knowledge. I hadn't heard that the guy sexually assaulted her but he was spewing that they are going to find out this guy was a pedophile and that he has child porn on his computer, etc.
It is just so scary to me that this seems to just have been a chance encounter. This poor girl's parents are dead and she is an orphan because he saw her getting on a school bus?
AS far as the vicitm blaming goes, when I initially heard the story months ago, I just assumed it was a teenaged girl who got wrapped up with a BF her parents didn't like and they offed them. Now that the story is out there, vicitm shaming this poor girl is just wrong on so many levels.

Not even necessarily about this case. But what kind of kid was he? What kind of friend? Did he make off hand comments about girls/kids? Did he harm animals? Were they surprised it was him?
And from what I've read so far nothing has come out that he raped or sexually assualted her. They actually have said there were no signs of it. Just that he wanted to keep her.

There are a lot of sick fukks in this world.
I’m happy that she was able to escape but terribly sorry for what she went through & now has to to deal with. Horrible

Seriously. Stories like this make me want to buy a gun, be trained on how to properly use it and then make the time to regularly practice. I have an alarm system but what’s an alarm system doing in that situation? Obviously this is an extreme situation but you never know. My DH is away for work frequently and I need to be able to protect my boys.
I hope this girl has a good support system through extended family. It’s unfathomable what she is going through. At 13. As if 13 doesn’t suck enough.

Yes! DH was just reading me that article yesterday.
It was a girlfriend of his from HS. She said he was nerdy but seemed cool- until she pissed him off one day and he started raging at her and screaming and then came out wearing some creepy mask!!
After that she knew he was definitely not right.
They spoke of how he would collect road kill and stuff it and then he moved on to killing animals himself.
Sounds like a real psycho.

Its rather clear that animal killers go on to kill people. Animal killers get a slap on the wrist then move on to more heinous acts. When will lawmakers wake up to this?
I watched the 48 Hours on this case and what I learned from that show was that he apparently worked at the Jenny-O turkey processing plant that both her parents were supervisors at; he worked there for 1 day. Unclear if he quit or was fired.
Also that he had no current employment. So it must be the family home he was living in and paying his bills.
When you think of all the children being held in these sick situations in this country, I wonder how many more are out there. Very depressing.
