Disputing a credit card charge...sort of
DH purchased a gift card from an online company for $1000. They are not a company that I ever really buy from because their prices are so outrageous (that $1000 would only cover 1/2 of something). They will not accept a return on it. Is this something I can dispute with the credit card company? I’m sick to my stomach.
ETA: I’m over my bratty freakout, I found a couple of thinks I like

Whenever I have disputed a charge with my credit card company, they want to know a reason. It has to be something where the goods or services weren't delivered as promised etc. They also want to know if you tried to resolve it with the seller and got nowhere. I don't think a mistake in purchasing a gift card that the receiver doesn't want is grounds for them to do anything to be honest. He purchased it, they delivered it, there is really nothing to dispute. Buyer's remorse is not a reason your cc company would get involved. In general, gift cards are not refundable.
The only thing I can think of is try to sell it online or something

Lol Net-a-porter And not that I’m not one to spend a nice chunk of change on a bag but I can never find anything I want on this site and they don’t sell the brand of bag that I’ve been lusting afte.

Honestly, there’s nothing to dispute. You just don’t want the gc. Try to sell it or just buy a couple small things that will add up.

If you have Amex it might be covered under the "satisfaction guarantee". They will take it back from you and credit you (if they cover gcs)
