i need the perfect host gift

i'm going to be visiting a family that used to live across the street when i was a kid.

i haven't seen these people in a very long time and i would love to bring something over when i visit.

in this situation, what would be the best thing to bring?

Do you have a photo from when you were all together years ago?
You can print one and put in a nice frame

You could also go simple and bring a cookie platter, something edible or wine...

Nice platter with homemade baked goods on top so it's a win/win. New platter and something sweet. That and a nice bottle of wine is perfect or maybe wine from where you guys used to live.
A nice flower and pot or plant for the home.
Do they have kids? A little something for them is always good.
Maybe a book on the history of the town you guys grew up together and framed picture of all of you.

I always say you can't ever go wrong with something edible and wine. Even from a famous local bakery.

Something edible or wine plus something sentimental. Someone mentioned a framed photo. That sounds good.

i'll bake my "famous" carrot cake and bring the picture.
