Re: Now that there is no more TRU...

Target

And Amazon

And Walmart.com on a rare occasion.

To be honest, I never shopped TRU anyway- they were WAY over priced.

I used to price compare on toys DD wanted- between Amazon, TRU and Target

TRU NEVER once came up as the winner on price.

They sucked to be honest.
Good riddance

Target, amazon, homegoods, AC Moore. The old Babies R Us in Sayville is a toy store now but I haven't been in there. Party City had a bunch, I heard Best Buy has toys now.

I bought a few Melissa and Doug toys at Macys.com during cyber week.

JCP.com also had good deals.

Whenever possible, I try to support companies other than Amazon if the price is the same.

Are there any small, privately owned toy stores around anymore? There used to be one by me but it closed down. I wouldn't mind supporting a local business. I was in a boutique store the other day and they had really different, cute toys but they were too old for my kids.

I miss being able to walk up and down the aisles to choose toys. I never know what I’m looking for, so I hate buying online. I never paid TRU approves because they price matched everything. I’d get to the register and have them price match every item.

They do but its not the same. We went last night. TRU had a huge variety and every toy you could think of. My LO is REALLY into Minions right now and there was not a minion anything to be found at Target whereas I feel TRU would have had something.

I also want to buy my toddler a smaller play house. He loves the one at school but I want something smaller for their playroom. I want to be able to see them in person some place but nobody has them! It's so annoying!
