Goody bag 8 year old
Any ideas? Boys and girls will be attending. Last year I gave out books which was great but my son asked me if I could do something different this year.

Re: Goody bag 8 year old
Where is the party? Maybe you can tie the favor to the theme/place?
When we have had sports parties for my son, we've done things like water/sports bottles filled with candy, or a wiffle ball set.
Last year, he had a party at Island Rock (rock climbing) and I found inexpensive rock painting craft kits (rock painting was kind of a big thing kids were doing around here).
He went to an ice skating party last year and the favor was hat/gloves.
I know my DS's friends like keychains and things to hang on their backpack. One year I ordered plush emoji key chains from Amazon (they came in packs of 12) and the kids loved them and all put them on their school bags.
I like to pick up a book of free slurpee coupons from 7-11 and include those in the goody bags. My DS has an early Dec. birthday, so they are usually available this time of year.
I like the fleece blanket idea. Personally, I like to give (and receive) one larger favor versus a bag of little trinkets.

Recent 8th party they gave out slime. Didn't love that... LOL! My 7 year old was happy though. I like the blanket or towel ideas make your own snowman kit My son's friend's 9th sports party gave out this small basketball game in a ball and make the ball in the basket and it lights up Usually school type snacks are always big (had a baseball party and gave out cracker jacks, big league gum and small pringles) GC to an ice cream place

Re: Goody bag 8 year old
My son turned 9 and had an american ninja warrior party and we did themed water bottles for it. People seemed to like it and my son did too. I also made star lollipops and put them in there.

Harmon and Bed Bath & Beyond both carry the build your own snowman thing. I always see it in the store. Plus they take up to 3 coupons at Harmon for Bed Bath & Beyond

The snowman kits are $4.99 at Harmon. It's not the same as the link posted above, it's a clear snowman with stuff to add to an actual SNOW man (eyes, nose scarf, etc.). You could use multiple $5 and $10 off coupons and save some money
