ELECTION DAY!!!!!
EVERYONE must go out and cast their vote!!! You don't vote, you don't get to complain. Make your voice heard and cast your vote for the people most aligned with your values, your beliefs and who share your hope for the future. Do your civic duty, our democracy depends on it!

Voted bright and early this morning as I do every election day. This is the first time ever there was a line. People are charged up and I was so happy to see a lot of young people at my polling place at 7:20 this morning.

But did you all put it on Facebook that you voted???
Because I hear your vote will not count unless you post at least a sticker that says I VOTED and preferably a bad selfie with no make up on of you outside the polls.
That's what I heard.

You always crack me up!!
I did not buuuuuuut I did post a few times reminding everyone to get out and vote. I think too many people are complacent about voting, you don't get to complain if you don't vote.

I was turned away at the polls this morning. My name was not on the register, after living here for 13 years and voting many times.
I called the Board of Elections, who told me that my registration had been deleted because I was still registered in Nassau County, where I lived for one year in 2004-2005. I was told that I could fill out an affidavit, and that would serve as my voter registration.
However, I am a registered voter, and my vote should count. I was told that my only recourse was to go to court and plead my case to a judge, and get a court order permitting me to vote.
So I did just that.

I agree!! SOOOOOOOOO happy Dems took the House too!!! We can finally restore our system of check and balances, something the GOP seemed to be ignoring the last two years. I was relieved last night! Would've been great to take the Senate too but this is a good first step to reigning Trump's chaos in.

They place where I vote was not expecting as many people as usual.
Since the NYC ballot was two pages long the scanners filled up quickly. When DH and I got there, the lines were insane because only 2 scanners were working.
We waited in line and we voted, made our voices heard.
