How much to fill in a cavity for a child?
How much have you paid to fill in a cavity for your child? No insurance just a dental discount plan. Curious what others have paid.

With an exam and x-rays you're looking at close to $300.
I have insurance and pay a $50 co-pay for a filling as well as a $30 co-pay for x-rays and $15 for the exam.

Yes, this.
I have no co-pays though as long as I use a dentist that is in the PBA network- he has to take what the PBA pays. They always overshoot what they charge and the PBA pays less than half of that and they just take it.
The only thing that is not covered is sweet air. We give her sweet air every time and it's up to $90 now... which is insane.

How much to fill in a cavity for a child?
My DD just had to get a filling on a baby tooth a couple of weeks ago. Insurance paid for the cavity, but my invoice says $84 for the filling. The x rays were part of her cleaning recently (that discovered the cavity). I also had to pay $30 for sweet air out of pocket. $90 is crazy!!! I won't get the sweet air again...my DD has developed a weird motor tic since right after this dentist visit, and I read it's probably from that, ugh!

my son just went on Tuesday for his first cavity- well actually he had 2 and they charged us $30 for sweet air.
The dentist also told my Dh that the cavity is in an awkward spot so if the filling doesn't last he may need a cap- on a baby tooth- uh hello no he will just go without the damn tooth- I am not capping a baby tooth.... lord help me
I am sorry but my DS is almost 7 no way I am paying for a cap- insanity, he can have soup till his adult tooth comes in....
