Which Party Would You Do?
So I have been starting to plan DS birthday party. I think I have made a choice to do the second party, but I have some reservations - not sure why though. I think the kids would really like it but its not your "typical" party and I am afraid that the second party wont be nice enough.
The first place we really liked was the childrens safari in Valley Stream. Its brand new, gorgeous and lots of activities for the kids. Slides, games, bouncy things etc. Basically just open play and then pizza, cake and go. But it is $$$$$, starts at $350 for like 12 kids and anything extra is $$ (like extra kids or food for adults). 1 1/2 hours.
Then someone told me about Alley Pond Envirnomental Center Parties. I went today to check it out. Its nothing fancy, but they have two big rooms (they do two parties at once) but you get one room and they will bring out 3 animals which you choose (snakes, ferrets, turtles, bunnies etc), teach the kids about them, let them hold or pet them etc. Then they have a nature walk (his birthday is in January but they said they still do it depending on the weather), then an animal related craft. You have to bring in any food you want for children and adults. They dont provide any food or papergoods. This party would be about $180 and anything I choose to bring for food. So like half the price. 2 hours.
This is crazy, he is going to be FOUR! I have several years of this nonsense ahead of me

hmm, poll results are getting closer and closer.
Has anyone been to a party at either of these places?

I havent been to either but my vote is definitly for Alley Pond Envirnomental Center . It sounds like it is something very different from the usual birthday parties and kids always LOVE animals. The extra plus is that it is cheaper. I am so glad you mentioned it, I am going to keep this place in mind for DD's parties in a year or so since we also live nearby

The second one sounds awesome...and even in January, I think the kids would get a kick out of a nature walk...
Animals are fun too...
Sometimes more $$ isn't worth it. I am sure whatever you choose will be fun though.
